This was my point of view late Friday afternoon. Does this guy look like he knows what the fuck he is doing?!?!
Spoiler Alert: He doesn’t.
Who is he? The VP at my bank and he thinks he’s helping. That’s cute. Only it wasn’t. I was fuming inside and I was reminded why it is I don’t have a conceal carry permit.
I think I’m half joking…
Rewind to a week ago when I returned from Prague and put in a simple wire transfer, because, you know, I like to pay my people because they are awesome.
There was a problem. The woman who handles all my shit at the bank was on vacation and the new person fucked it up. But I didn’t get notified of the fuck-up until Thursday. No problem, I’ll just put in a request online since it was after hours and that went unanswered.
Then the real fun started. I called on Friday. Was told I had to contact my local branch as they couldn’t help me. I call my local branch who told me … wait for it …. wait for it … to call the online support number because they couldn’t help me.
Are. You. Fucking. Kidding. Me.
What did I do? I drove like a bat out of hell to the branch and they immediately got the VP to help me…and what did he do? He called the support line and got the exact same woman on the phone who said she couldn’t help me.
You can’t make this shit up.
45-minutes later and he can’t even follow the instructions she is giving him. I had it. And then it happened. My contact showed up and the issue was done in two minutes.
The moral of this story is two-fold: As a customer, always have a contact at the company that can take care of your shit. As the provider, train your people properly so you don’t put them through unneeded stress and frustration. And if you’re upper management, know how to do the jobs of the people you manage. If you don’t, you are a worthless piece of shit.
